Beta has updated its popular XTrainer enduro range for MY27 with the introduction of the all-new XTrainer 200 2T, which joins the proven XTrainer 300 2T in the model line-up.
Renowned for its versatility, approachable feel and technical terrain capability, the XTrainer range has long been a favourite among riders looking for a more manageable enduro motorcycle without sacrificing performance. For MY27, Beta has taken that formula further with a new 200cc model designed to appeal to a wide range of riders, from those progressing into enduro through to experienced riders seeking a lighter, more agile machine for single trail, technical climbs and hard enduro conditions.
The all-new XTrainer 200 2T is the headline addition for MY27, with Beta developing a dedicated 200cc two-stroke engine package focused on smooth torque, easy control and usable performance in technical terrain.
Rather than chasing outright top-end power, the new 200cc engine has been tuned to deliver strong response from low revs, making it easier to maintain traction and momentum through tight single trail, rocky climbs, rutted tracks and slower hard enduro-style sections. Combined with electric start, electronic oil injection and the XTrainer’s lower seat height, the XTrainer 200 2T brings a new level of accessibility to Beta’s enduro range while still offering the performance and feel expected from a modern two-stroke.
Across the MY27 XTrainer range, both the 200 2T and 300 2T receive a number of updates, including a new LED headlight and headlight shroud, updated plastics and graphics, a black frame, a revised chain guide, a stronger front sprocket guard and an updated rear brake disc.
All-New XTrainer 200 2T Engine
At the centre of the new XTrainer 200 2T is a dedicated engine package developed to suit the character of the XTrainer range: smooth, manageable and confidence-inspiring, with enough performance to reward more experienced riders.
The cylinder features revised exhaust and transfer ports, designed to improve power output at low rpm. By focusing on stronger torque from the bottom end and removing flat spots in the delivery, the new engine gives riders more control when the terrain becomes slow, slippery or technical.
Beta has also developed a specific cylinder head for the XTrainer 200 2T engine, with combustion chamber geometry designed to improve efficiency at low and mid-range revs. The wide squish band helps increase mixture turbulence, supporting cleaner combustion, improved response and greater stability when the throttle is only partially open.
A new piston profile works together with the revised porting and cylinder head. Its dome-style design helps direct the transfer flow towards the upper part of the combustion chamber, improving combustion efficiency and helping the engine produce more responsive torque at low revs.
The XTrainer 200 2T also receives revised exhaust valve timing to match the new engine’s character. The focus is on smooth, controllable torque rather than abrupt power delivery, giving the bike the easy-to-manage feel that has become a key part of the XTrainer identity.
Ignition timing has been mapped specifically for the new engine, with optimisation at low revs to improve combustion behaviour and deliver a quick but controlled throttle response.
To complete the package, Beta has developed a dedicated exhaust system for the 200cc engine, inspired by the geometry of the XTrainer 300 system to maintain the familiar sound and power delivery of the range. A dedicated airbox intake boot has also been introduced to further support the engine’s torque-focused performance.
The clutch has been tuned for technical riding, with reduced-load clutch springs lowering lever effort and improving progression. This helps reduce rider fatigue and makes the bike easier to control through slow sections where clutch feel is critical.
Together, these updates give the new XTrainer 200 2T a distinct place in the Beta line-up: lighter and more approachable than a larger-capacity enduro bike, but with the torque, response and control needed for serious trail and technical riding.
DEDICATED 200 FRAME
To match the new engine, Beta has developed a specific frame layout for the XTrainer 200 2T while retaining the core geometry and easy-handling character of the 300 model.
The design has been developed to maintain the typical riding feel of the XTrainer range, with a focus on weight balance, precision and ease of control in technical conditions.
The rear wheel uses a 140/80 tyre on an 18 x 1.85-inch rim, selected to balance traction, steering response and agility. This makes the 200 2T particularly well suited to riders who want strong grip and confidence in technical conditions without the more physical feel of a larger-capacity enduro bike.
The new 200 2T model is aimed at riders who want the confidence of a lower (910mm seat height), lighter (97.5 kg dry) and more manageable motorcycle, including younger riders, smaller-stature riders and experienced enduro riders looking for a fun and agile option for tighter terrain.
MY27 XTRAINER RANGE UPDATES
Both the XTrainer 200 2T and XTrainer 300 2T receive a range of updates for MY27.
The new LED headlight offers improved visibility and sits within a redesigned headlight shroud, giving the range a more modern and recognisable front-end appearance.
A new graphics package introduces a fresh red colour scheme, complemented by a black-painted frame for the first time on the XTrainer range.

Beta has updated the chain guide, making it stronger and more resistant to impacts from rocks, mud and trail debris. The front sprocket guard has also been redesigned for improved coverage and protection.
The braking package continues with Nissin components, using a 260mm front disc and 240mm rear disc. For MY27, the rear now features an updated solid wave-profile disc designed to provide more progressive feel, particularly in slower technical sections and downhill riding.
